Young capital of the Kazakhstan, Astana, is opening its’ doors for the 30th World IPMA Congress

Large-scale worldwide event in the sphere of project managing – World IPMA Congress (hereinafter Congress) is going to start on September 5th, 2017 at Nazarbayev University.

It is expected that more than 700 participants from 70 countries will come to the capital of Kazakhstan: representatives of international companies, leading scientists, professors, practitioners, managers, representatives of various sectors and professions, NGOs and the media.

Under the slogan of the 30th anniversary of the World Congress “Breakthrough competences for managing change” will be holding a series of panel sessions, poster sessions, presentations and an exhibition. The event will end with a Council delegates meeting of IPMA of in the resort area, the pearl of Kazakhstan – Borovoe.

Among the guests of honor of the 30th Congress is the President of the International Project Management Association Reinhard Wagner, the President of the Kazakhstan Project Management Association Kenzhegali Sagadiev, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, the Astana mayor Aset Isekeshev, the President of the Nazarbayev University Shigeo Katsu. Master of Ceremony – Tom Taylor, Past Chairman and Past President of the Association for Project Management (UK).

The official program of the Congress, as always, includes presentations and discussion panels on the most relevant topics. The program of the Congress will begin with the main reports of leading scientists. The event will continue in the form of the panel sessions, attended by top managers, ex-heads and acting heads of project management associations of Germany, South Korea, Japan, the United Kingdom, the Russian Federation, Australia, Ukraine, Italy, Switzerland, Kazakhstan, etc. The discussion topics are going to be breakthrough competence in the development of education and science, the main sectors of the economy, high-the industries and public administration.

During the Congress, academic and practice sections are going to be held, with the topics of discussion on such issues as global problems, trends for the development of individual breakthrough competences in project management. Breakthrough competences will be considered in the context of the ability of the business to adapt quickly to new production trends and commercial conditions, breakthrough competences in knowledge-intensive industries and in the management of public programs and project portfolios, and much more.

Within the framework of the Congress, all visitors and participants will be invited to take part in a business game based on ICB4, which will allow them to develop specific skills of project management in the improvised project conditions.

The Organizing Committee of the Congress prepared a diverse cultural and entertainment program for the participants. The first day of the Congress will end in the style of traditional Kazakh hospitality – a concert program and a traditional dinner. Gala dinner will be held on the second day as part of the awarding ceremony of the winners of the International Competition – “Best Project of the Year” and “Best Project Manager of the Year”.

We have planned not only a large scientific and practical program. The 30th World Congress successfully coincides with the International EXPO-2017 exhibition, which is located within walking distance from the venue of the Congress. Expo-2017 is a symbol of industrialization progress, demonstration of technical and technological achievements, the introduction to the new ideas and interesting projects in the field of energy development and sustainability. The participants of the Congress will have a unique opportunity to visit the pavilion of Kazakhstan, which is the personification of the soul of Kazakhstan and take a metaphorical journey, introducing the idea “Energy of the Future is a man.
