IPMA calls for support of Nepal
With great sadness the IPMA Family has received news of the devastating earthquake in Nepal. The disaster hits a country that has had to fight for a long time to survive. If you follow the news, important parts of the infrastructure and buildings are broken, more than 4,000 people were killed, many were seriously injured and have lost their livelihoods. There are hard times ahead for the brave people of Nepal. Our thoughts are with the colleagues and friends of our member association Project Management Association of Nepal. Right after the first news we already received information on Facebook and direct channels that all are well that we know of. The traffic on social media was tremendous, showing the good relations and connections we have within the IPMA Family. But the devastations are bigger than this small country can deal with.
This is why the IPMA Executive Board asks for support. Please get in touch with our Nepalese friends, encourage them in this difficult moment and include them in your prayers. Help to connect people on social media that miss family members or their friends. Support through a donation to eliminate the worst damage and rebuild the country. Support initiatives that offer their help on the spot, whether for casualty evacuation, medical first aid or repairing / rebuilding the infrastructure. ExBo will discuss with our Nepalese colleagues during the coming weeks how we could support them further and let you know.

Reinhard Wagner has been active for more than 30 years in the field of project- related leadership, in such diverse sectors as Air Defense, Automotive Engineering, and Machinery, as well as various not-for-profit organizations. As a Certified Projects Director (IPMA Level A), he has proven experience in managing projects, programmes and project portfolios in complex and dynamic contexts. He is also an IPMA Certified Programme and Portfolio Management Consultant, and as such supports senior executives in developing and improving their organizational competence in managing projects. For more than 15 years, he has been actively involved in the development of project, programme and portfolio management standards, for example as Convenor of the ISO 21500 “Guidance on Project Management” and the ISO 21503 “Guidance on Programme Management”. Reinhard Wagner is Past President of IPMA and Chairman of the Council, Honorary Chairman of GPM (the German Project Management Association), as well as Managing Director of Tiba Managementberatung GmbH.
