2. IPMA conference on Diversity in Project Management

rom 7th June to 9th June, Croatia had a great privilege of hosting the 2nd IPMA Diversity in Project Management Conference and welcoming some of the most prominent and the best project managers from around the world. The Conference was held in Brijuni Island (Croatia) and it was organized by the Croatian Association for Project Management (CAPM). The Croatian Association for Project Management is one of IPMA’s non-profit member associations. IPMA Conferences have a long tradition and are recognized as one of the world’s leading events in the field of project management, program and portfolio management which gathers the world’s prominent experts, managers, company representatives as well as academics and young people interested and involved in the field. The Conference was held under the patronage of the Croatian Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning.  Together with the 4th SENET conference, the 2nd IPMA Diversity in Project Management Conference delivered six keynote presentations, 2 workshops and welcomed 130 delegates. During two days 15 papers were presented through four (4) parallel sessions.  During the Conference numerous case studies regarding different projects from various sectors were presented, and the participants had the opportunity to take a look at the results of the newest research made by the global academic community.

Conference hosted people from different parts of the world: Germany, Island, The Netherlands, Croatia, Iran, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Poland, Slovakia, Dominican Republic and Hungary. DiPM conference gathered academics papers, and selected ones will be published in PMRP journal. IPMA conferences have significant importance for developing trends and practices of Project Management, exchanging informations and creating future plans and projects. Next years DiPM conference will be held in Finland.

The congress was attended by about 130 participants from about 15 countries worldwide. As a common initiative both from IPMA together with its member associations in the Netherlands, Germany and Iceland the second Diversity in Project Management Conference tackled topics of: gender, age gap, and multiculturality. Around 20 speakers in 2 days filled with the latest experiences and insights about how to bring more diversity into project management and project teams enabling the project success for better projects for a better world where all projects succeed

During the gala dinner, with IPMA Honorary Diversity recognition were awarded the most successful project managers from region: Maja-Marija Nahod and Darija Ivandić Vidović.
