Every year, the International Project Management Championship (IPMC) brings together some of the most promising young talents in project management from across Europe and beyond. What started as a competition has become a unique space for experiential learning, cross-cultural exchange, and professional growth.

In 2025, the IPMC was hosted in Warsaw, Poland, welcoming 11 national champion teams to take on a challenging and high-pressure case. This year’s business scenario was particularly relevant: teams had to manage the development and on-time delivery of a life-saving medical pacemaker. Any delay in the project would result in severe financial tariffs, mimicking the pressure of today’s global market—where supply chains are vulnerable, regulations are shifting, and timing is critical to success.

In just 8 hours, the teams worked through a complex project simulation, balancing quality, budget, stakeholder interests, and risk. The case required not just technical understanding, but strategic foresight, leadership, and composure under pressure. At the end, each team presented its solution live to a professional jury, demonstrating not only what they decided, but how and why they did it.

More Than a Competition — A Community

One of the most powerful aspects of IPMC is the community it builds. Students from different countries, cultures, and disciplines come together and connect through their shared passion for project management.

Beyond the competition, they exchange ideas, celebrate each other’s efforts, and form meaningful international friendships. This global spirit is at the heart of IPMA’s Young Crew network—and it was felt strongly in Warsaw.

By participating in IPMC, these students gain far more than a medal or a certificate. They build the mindset and network of future project leaders—professionals who are not only skilled, but globally connected and values-driven.
