The voice of IPMA LATNET during the COVID19 crisis

Today IPMA brings together 73 nations around their national associations. We are diverse, multicultural, have different ways of perception and understanding. Most of all, we are proactive. And this is the strength and global spirit of IPMA: we are united in diversity, today more than ever.

I would like to share with you the video prepared by the IPMA network of Latin Associations – LATNET, active in IPMA for almost 12 years now. The video is the voice of the representatives of IPMA LATNET: of different ages, roles, and functions. All of them committed and involved in building a more sustainable society. Our colleagues describe how the elements of IPMA global standards and competences apply in their countries. They talk about their ways of dealing with Covid-19 crises and challenges.

The idea for this video was born in a virtual space, where LATNET countries meet every Friday. We meet, share our plans, and discuss them. We call these meetings: “Café de Los Viernes” (in English – “Friday’s Coffee”).

As the great poet, Antonio Machado once wrote:
“Wanderer, your footsteps are the road, and nothing more; wanderer, there is no road, the road is made by walking. By walking one makes the road, and upon glancing behind one sees the path that never will be trod again. Wanderer, there is no road- only wakes upon the sea.”
“Caminante, son tus huellas el camino, y nada más; caminante, no hay camino, se hace camino al andar. Al andar se hace camino, y al volver la vista atrás se ve la senda que nunca se ha de volver a pisar. Caminante, no hay camino, sino estelas en la mar.”
