The First IPMA REG Programme in the People’s Republic of China

The Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), an international joint-venture university founded by Xi’an Jiaotong University in China and the University of Liverpool in the UK approved by China’s Ministry of Education became the first IPMA REG Partner in China.

The Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), an international joint-venture university founded by Xi’an Jiaotong University in China and the University of Liverpool in the UK approved by China’s Ministry of Education became the first IPMA REG Partner in China.

Their registered programme Master of Science in Project Management provides students with a postgraduate-level education in project management principles, theories, tools and practice with the emphasis on the:

  1. project management knowledge required to meet the demands of a highly competitive global market, including the effective planning, execution, control and supervision of projects varying in size and complexity
  2. set of key skills related to managing stakeholder expectations, risk and quality assurance
  3. preparation for the domestic and foreign project management job markets through analysis and evaluation of practice-based content from the perspectives of practice and theory
  4. opportunities to learn how to drive the growth of future companies and achieve strategic goals at the project level and the organisation as a whole.

 

During the IPMA Research Awards Gala in Nanjing, the University representative, Mr. Zhiqin Ni was presented with a letter of acceptance by Prof. Mladen Vukomanović, IPMA Vice President Profession Development and Prof. Lixiong Ou, President of IPMA Member Association Project Management Research Committee (PMRC) and National REG Director, and therefore officially accepted into the IPMA global network of high-quality courses and programmes in the field of project management. On this occasion, Prof. Vukomanović and Prof Ou. emphasized that this is an extremely important step not only for IPMA and PMRC, but also for the professionalization of the project profession in the People’s Republic of China, the development of new young talents as well as cooperation with educators and experts in the field.
