Due to the restrictions following the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to hold the 8th IPMA Research Conference virtually. On the first and second day, the participants can exchange their views on self-organization in projects in a self-organized way. On the online platform “Slack” they can present the results of the conference. We call this the “IPMA Hackdays”. There are no limits to creativity. Highlights of the exchange will be presented at the end of the research conference and will later be made available on the IPMA website.
Due to the different time zones, we will start the “IPMA Hackdays” on September 9th at 10 am CET. From then on, participants can work on the topics around the clock until the end of the research conference and it is even possible to continue the work beyond.
On September 11th, a day full of presentations on the topic will follow. Keynotes will provide insights into practice, paper presentations will illustrate research findings and case studies, a panel discussion will take a critical look at the topic, and after presenting the highlights of the “IPMA Hackdays”, the 8th IPMA Research Conference will conclude in the late afternoon.

Call for papers – now prolonged! NEW dates!
* Deadline for submission: May 29th, 2020

Each paper for the IPMA Research Conference should be a full paper, with an abstract of between 150 and 200 words and a total length of up to 6,000 words. A template is available for download on the conference website. Each paper will be peer-reviewed by at least two members of the Scientific Committee. Each author can submit a maximum of two papers.

The IPMA Global Research Awards aim to promote excellent research to enhance project management. With the annual awards, IPMA recognises recent outstanding contributions to the development of the field and professional project management through professionally conducted research.

- IPMA Global Young Researcher Award. Recognising outstanding research by a young researcher (someone under 36 years old or less than 10 years of involvement in research).
- IPMA Global Research Award. Recognising an outstanding research project from a researcher or research team.
General criteria for Applicants
The Application Report requires you to demonstrate, through narratives and documentary evidence, outstanding achievement and/or innovation in project management research. Researchers may come from academia, other research institutions or industry. Researchers may come from disciplines other than project management but must contribute to the development of project, programme, portfolio management, project-oriented companies and IPMA standards. The candidates apply with a research project. The research project must have had at least a duration of one year and must be completed when the application is handed in, that is the basis of the judges’ evaluation. Read more HERE.
