Project Management Conference and “Thе Best Project of the Year” Award Ceremony, SOVNET, Russia
The Project Management Conference and the award ceremony of the Russian competition for thе “Best Project of the Year” will take place from 31st of October to 1st of November 2019 – in Ryazan, Russia. The event is jointly organized by the Government of the Ryazan Region, SOVNET – the Russian Project Management Association (IPMA Member Association in Russia), and the analytical centre of the government of the Russian Federation.
The conference program includes presentations and master classes by leading Russian and world experts in the field of project management, including IPMA representatives:
Dr Hans Knöpfel, ex IPMA Vice-President, and ex-President of VZPM (Switzerland),
Paulus Hesselman, the member of the Management Board of IPMA NL (Nederland),
Alexandr Tovb, ex-vice-president of IPMA, President of SOVNET Association (Russia),
Alexey Polkovnikov, IPMA, Chairman of the Board of SOVNET Association (Russia).
The central part of the conference will be the presentation of the best practices of project approaches applying and projects implementation by the finalists of “The Best Project of the Year” contest and the announcement of the competition results. The conference program also includes round tables, discussions and seminars on topical issues of project management as well as a business game dedicated to an adaptive management approach. The representatives of the nuclear, aviation and other sectors of the Russian economy, the Russian Federation governmental authorities, constituents of the Russian Federation, higher education and business will participate in the conference.
More than 200 people are expected to attend the various conference activities.
The Open Russian Contest “The Best Project of the Year” has been held in Russia since 2013.
The Contest is held by Russian national project management Association «SOVNET» as an analogue of IPMA Global Project Excellence Award.
Annually about 30 innovative, successful, breakthrough projects from all over the country, of different sectors and different levels of complexity take part in the contest.
The winners of the competition in different years were such leading Russian organisations as: Joint-Stock Company Atomstroyexport (JSC ASE) (engineering company, which occupies 30% of the world market for construction of nuclear power plant units), Sberbank of Russia (one of the largest banks in the world), RZD (one of the world’s largest railway companies), Information technology centre (engaged in the creation of electronic document management at the international level) and others.
Some of the winners of the Russian national Contest including Atomstroyexport (ASE), Rossetti Center, Sberbank of Russia subsequently became the prize winners of the Global IPMA Project Excellence Award.
“The Best Project of the Year” evaluates the results of the project and the effectiveness of its management based on the IPMA Project Excellence Model®.
Beginning this year, the evaluation of projects within the framework of “The Best Project of the Year” is carried out based on a modified methodology based on the new version of IPMA Project Excellence Baseline. The new methodology was implemented for seamless joining of national and Global contests, to enable participants of «The Best Project of the Year-2019» Contest to participate in the Global IPMA Project Excellence Award-2020 next year.
The Award Ceremony of «The Best Project of the Year» is held annually in one of the major cities of Russia. In different years the final was hosted by Ekaterinburg, Tomsk, Yaroslavl, Moscow, Ulyanovsk. Next year, the IPMA Award Gala and the Award Ceremony of “The Best Project of the Year” competition will meet at the same venue – in St. Petersburg, as part of the 32nd IPMA World Congress.
