IPMA Welcomes PMAS-IPMA Singapore as a Member Association
The Council of Delegates of the International Project Management Association (IPMA) convened in Berlin in September 2025 alongside the 34th IPMA World Congress, marking the 60th Anniversary of the Association. This milestone gathering was both a celebration of six decades of pioneering contributions to the project management profession and a moment of reflection—reaffirming IPMA’s commitment to building a sustainable future founded on competence, collaboration, and global responsibility.
Strengthening the IPMA Global Network
At the Council’s voting session, delegates unanimously approved the membership application of PMAS-IPMA Singapore (PMAS), officially welcoming it as a member association of IPMA.
Founded in 2016, PMAS is a national organization dedicated to advancing project management methodology through the active exchange of knowledge and experience among professionals and academics. Since becoming a transitional member in 2016, PMAS has made continuous progress in supporting the professionalization of project management in Singapore.

Building Competence and Collaboration
PMAS has maintained a validated Certification Body since 2019 for all IPMA 4-Level Certification (4-L-C)levels and actively certifies project professionals across industries. The association also collaborates with IPMA Global Customers, supports Key Account Managers in certification activities for global organizations, and contributes to IPMA’s international working groups and initiatives.
Through its events and active engagement in the IPMA Ecosystem, PMAS plays a vital role in fostering a culture of competence and collaboration. Reflecting its growing ambition, PMAS has also expressed its intent to host the IPMA World Congress in 2030.
A Shared Vision for the Future
Prof. Dr. Mladen Vukomanović, IPMA President, welcomed the Council’s decision, stating:
“The admission of PMAS-IPMA Singapore as a full member marks a significant step forward in strengthening IPMA’s presence in Asia. PMAS has shown outstanding commitment to competence development, collaboration, and the advancement of the profession. Together, we will continue to inspire and equip project leaders worldwide to deliver sustainable value through projects.”
The IPMA Executive Board extends its warm congratulations to Mr. Sunny Tan, Chairman of PMAS-IPMA Singapore, and his leadership team. Their vision and dedication have been instrumental in advancing the IPMA ecosystem in Singapore, building bridges across industries, and contributing meaningfully to the global project management community.
