IPMA Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Shandong University School of Management to Strengthen Project Management Education and Skills Development

The International Project Management Association (IPMA) and the School of Management of Shandong University (SOM) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand cooperation in project management education, certification, and skills development. The agreement was formalized during the 34th IPMA World Congress and IPMA’s 60^th Anniversary Celebration in Berlin, Germany.

Shandong University, one of China’s leading educational institutions, offers a wide range of academic and training programmes. Through this MoU, SOM and IPMA will strengthen cooperation in teaching, certification, and the development of advanced educational programmes in project management, both in China and globally through SOM’s partner network.

The MoU underscores the joint commitment to advancing the next generation of project professionals through cooperation in the following areas:

• Joint initiatives in training, education, and teaching of project management, involving both business and academic institutions.
• Enhancing SOM’s project management degree programmes through active participation in IPMA Special Interest Groups (SIGs).
• Collaboration on the IPMA REG system for registered training and education programmes.
• Development and delivery of SOM’s Master’s, MBA, Mini MBA, and DBA programmes in project management.
• Joint work on accreditation processes.
• Exploring simulation-based training to provide students with practical, hands-on project management experience.
• Facilitating access to IPMA certification for SOM students.
• Connecting students with IPMA’s global community, including participation in Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and Young Crew activities.

The MoU also paves the way for SOM’s international partner schools to join in future cooperation, broadening the scope of educational collaboration across multiple countries. Additionally, SOM will be able to apply for IPMA REG registration and international accreditation of its programmes, further strengthening the global recognition of its degrees.

At the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Mladen Vukomanović, President of IPMA, emphasized:
