IPMA REG CPD Record & Proof of Participation awarded to the fourth generation of students at the Faculty of Economics & Business Zagreb

Project Management, a compulsory course of the fifth year of study at the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb, has been recognized by the IPMA Education & Training Registration System (IPMA REG), a global network of quality courses/programs in the field of Project Management, and since 2020 included in the IPMA scheme of continuing professional development.

This way students not only have the opportunity to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to be competitive in the labour market, but also to collect CPD hours required for the certification process according to the IPMA 4-L-C and Agile system.

On March 16 2023, Vice Dean for Quality and Internationalization Dr Zoran Krupka, IPMA Profession Development Manager Dr Rebeka D. Vlahov Golomejić and co-leader of the course Dr Mislav Ante Omazić awarded IPMA CPD Record & Proof of Participation and digital badges to the fourth generation of students who participated in the registered course and worked on projects aimed at developing competencies for project management among children and young people in Croatia.

Dr Krupka pointed out that it is extremely important for students to acquire competencies during their studies that will ensure their recognition on the labour market: “In today’s hyper-competitive labour market, a certificate like this gives students a competitive advantage and for employers it is a guarantee of candidate’s quality. In addition, the knowledge, experience, responsibility and work habits acquired in this course are something that will surely help students in their career development.” Dr Mladen Vukomanović further emphasizes that “students took the right first step towards professional development in the field of project management, can prove that they had gained recognition from a reputable source and track their progress within the my.ipma platform, thus becoming a part of the international IPMA family.”

Student experiences:

Nika Palarić:A very useful course. We acquired a lot of competencies for further personal and educational development.

Ivana Mijačević:An excellently designed course so that we can experience first-hand what it is like to implement a project and what is needed, and that deadlines and plans are extremely important for successful implementation. I am glad that our team managed to implement its project and that I gained experience that will be a wind at my back in the future to enter new projects without fear.“

Terezija Ćurić: „Although this way of taking the course meant a lot more time invested, I am very glad that I chose it because I think the project was very well thought out and instructive!“

Ante Lozo: „The Project Management course, in the way it was conducted, succeeds in what many courses strive for: creating an excellent atmosphere and framework for acquiring competencies through work on real projects. We had the opportunity to implement the project from start to finish with detailed instructions, constant support, but also an extremely large amount of autonomy. Personally, I was surprised more than once during the course by discovering new opportunities for development and progress in various dimensions of my own work, from project organization and conceptual skills to teamwork and communication.“

Iva Obradović: „One of the most interesting courses at the university. I recommend all colleagues to participate in the project.“

Dora Jutriša: „I had a great time during this course. The course is well structured and I really liked the opportunity to work on a project and listen to the lectures of guest lecturers who brought us closer to the importance and beauty of project management with their experience. We came up with a project that was a little more difficult to implement, but with effort and commitment, we managed to implement the project in more schools than we originally planned. All in all, I think this is a great way to learn. I learned that a lot can be learned from others in a team and that active listening is sometimes a way of learning that we take for granted.“

Sven Begić: „The Project Management course was very interesting and innovatively organized. Finally, the course was not based on „dry“ learning of data, but on the application of the same in one’s own project. I believe that I have acquired basic knowledge and skills for projects, their organization and execution, and at the same time I have developed a great interest in the field of PM, which was previously unknown to me.“

Ena Mandlin: „Project management was my favorite and most innovative course throughout my studies. I’m generally interested in that area, however, just having the opportunity to develop our project was very educational.“

Iva Anđelić: „Excellent and motivating experience, a new perspective on project management and expanding the range of skills related to that profession. Kudos to the professor for her efforts to make this course the most interesting course at the university!“
