IPMA Global Certification Customers Meeting in Rome

The International Project Management Association (IPMA) successfully hosted the annual IPMA Global Certification Customers (GC) Meeting on Friday, July 4, 2025, in Rome, Italy, in connection to the 50th National Congress of ANIMP, the IPMA Member Association in Italy, the 25th Anniversary of IPMA-Italy, and the IPMA Executive Board meeting. This high-level event gathered key representatives from multinational corporations, European institutions, and IPMA Member Associations to discuss the development of global certification practices and strategic collaboration.

Participants joined both on-site and online, representing leading organizations including Alstom, Infineon, Naval Group, Siemens AG, Thales Group, Maire Tecnimont, EIT Digital, and IPMA’s Member Associations from Italy, France, and Austria. The meeting was opened by Prof. Dr. Mladen Vukomanović, IPMA President, and co-facilitated by Max Panaro (VP, Maire Tecnimont, and Lead of the IPMA Sustainability Programme, IPMA), Prof. Dr. Vladimir Obradović (IPMA VP Finance & Operations), and Vytautas Pugačevskis (IPMA Lead Validator).

The agenda focused on key IPMA initiatives and strategic developments:

  • Presentation of the IPMA Global Certification Scheme and its added value to international organizations
  • Introduction to IPMA’s latest ICB Reference Guides on Sustainable Project Management and Planning Competences
  • IPMA Recognition of Prior Learning and Achievement (RPL&A) initiative to support professional growth and inclusivity
  • IPMA Special Interest Group – Level A Club for the IPMA Level-A certified project directors
  • Updates on IPMA’s digital transformation
  • Workshop on the future development of the IPMA Individual Competence Baseline 5 (ICB5), facilitated by Timothy Jaques, Project Manager of the IPMA ICB5 project and President of IPMA-USA

The meeting also emphasized the importance of collaboration, inputs from the industry, ethical standards, and sustainability. Participants shared their expectations and recommendations to enhance the relevance of IPMA standards in project-driven industries and contribute to policy-level impact.
