IPMA Certification recognized by the China Association for Standardization through RPL&A

The China Association for Standardization (CAS) is responsible for the development of work programs and business plans in project management, research, and construction of the standardization system, development, implementation, and promotion of China national standards, international cooperation, talent training and evaluation, etc. in China. The CAS, specifically implemented by the secretariat of its TC343 National Project Management Standardization Technical Committee, has been carrying out the CSPM (China Standards based Project Managers) five-level professional qualification system based on the newly published national standard GB/T 41831-2022 (Requirements for the competence evaluation of project management professionals). The CSPM Evaluation Office is responsible for running the CSPM five-level professional qualification system.

The four-level certificate system of the International Project Management Association (IPMA) has gained widespread international recognition and authority. In order to promote the international development of the CSPM and establish a competence evaluation model that aligns with international standards, with the support of the IPMA Member Association in China – Project Management Research Committee (PMRC) and IPMA Certification Body in China, the CSPM qualification system is compatible with the IPMA 4-L-C certification system. The CSPM Evaluation Office has carried out corresponding recognition of IPMA certificates. Those who have already obtained various levels of IPMA certificates can directly obtain the corresponding CSPM level certificates based on application.

The recognition of IPMA certificates will promote the selection, training, and evaluation of project management talents in China and globally. The relevant certificates will serve as the foundation for the flow, training, professional title assessment, and employment of project management professionals in various international organizations.
