IPMA and Global Industry Leaders Forge Pathways for Sustainable Project Management and Collaboration
IPMA successfully convened the Global Partner Forum in Munich on March 15, 2024. This exclusive, invitation-only event, graciously hosted by Siemens at their Munich headquarters, marked a significant milestone in aligning project management practices with the pressing demands of sustainability and technological advancement.
IPMA’s mission of orchestrating the project profession for a better world resonated throughout the Forum. Representatives from leading industries in automotive, metallurgical, naval/marine, electric distribution, and other sectors exchanged insights on project management knowledge, portfolio and resource management, advancements in AI for project management, PMO and Agile practices, and harmonizing project-related work, among other topics during the keynote presentations and workshops.
The discussions underscored the importance of the IPMA global certification in setting global standards and qualifications for project managers. This certification was recognized as a crucial tool for corporations to establish dispersed global project organizations, ensuring consistency and excellence in project management across borders.
Mladen Vukomanovic, President of IPMA, emphasized the critical role of the project profession in uniting industrial and environmental efforts. He highlighted the necessity of addressing current sustainability issues, implementing change, and delivering societal benefits through project work.
Robert Stiglmayr, Head of Project Excellence from Siemens underlined the importance of industry collaboration to tackle complexities and contribute positively to society through projects. Peter Papert, a keynote speaker from Siemens, illustrated these points through the Egypt Megaproject by Siemens, a beacon of sustained development and economic growth.
IPMA Global Partner Forum hosted representatives of world-known companies from various industries, showcasing a diverse spectrum of expertise at this hybrid event. These included Alstom, BASF, Harbin Electric Power International, Infineon, Naval Group, Renault Group, Rheinmetall AG, Rolls-Royce Power Systems, Schaeffler Technologies, Siemens AG, Siemens Energy, Siemens Gamesa, TenneT, Thales, and ZTE, each bringing their unique perspectives and insights to enrich the discussions on sustainable project management and collaboration.
