IPMA and EIT Digital Deepen Strategic Collaboration to Advance Project Management, Digital Skills, and Sustainability
The International Project Management Association (IPMA) and EIT Digital are pleased to announce the next steps in their strategic collaboration, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen project management competences and support digital innovation both within and beyond the EU.
EIT Digital – Europe’s largest digital innovation and entrepreneurial education ecosystem and a Knowledge and Innovation Community of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union – invited IPMA leadership to Brussels on June 3 to explore concrete actions under this MoU.
This strategic agreement was facilitated by Prof. Dr. Vladimir Obradović, IPMA Vice President for Finance & Operations, and Salvatore Moccia, Director of Skills and Education at EIT Digital, marks a significant milestone in advancing the project management profession across Europe and beyond.
The meeting was also supported by IPMA President Prof. Dr. Mladen Vukomanović, EIT Digital CEO Mr. Federico Menna, and Orestis Trasanidis, Director of EIT Hub Silicon Valley, and resulted in an agreement to work closely on several shared priorities, including:
- Advancing digital skills and artificial intelligence competences through project management frameworks;
- Promoting sustainability and responsible innovation in project-based environments;
- Supporting workforce upskilling and lifelong learning, particularly through micro-credentials;
- Enhancing public sector capacity in delivering complex digital and societal transformation projects;
- Jointly engaging the next generation of leaders.
The partnership and MoU between IPMA and EIT Digital sets out a collaborative framework designed to:
- Promote the project management profession as a tool for societal transformation;
- Offer IPMA’s globally recognized 4-Level Certification and IPMA Delta® organizational certification to EIT Digital staff and partners;
- Support the IPMA Global Project Excellence Awards, including training and preparation for award submissions;
- Launch joint research and innovation initiatives in project, programme, and portfolio management;
- Engage the next generation of leaders by involving EIT Digital alumni and employees under 35 in IPMA Young Crew activities globally.
- Co-hosting events, research initiatives, and expert panels across Europe;
- Promoting professional standards in agile, digital, and sustainable project delivery.
