IPMA announces the inception of the Global Research Fellowship, a new honorary category designed to recognize and reward individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of project management and the development of IPMA Research. This recognition underscores IPMA’s commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the global project management community.

To be considered for the IPMA Global Research Fellowship, candidates must meet the following stringent criteria:

• Influential Research in Project Management: The candidate should have a substantial publication record, including books published by renowned publishers and research articles in top-ranked journals. Additionally, receipt of awards from academic committees or recognitions such as governor honors are considered.
• Contribution to IPMA Development: Active involvement in the development of IPMA products or services, such as serving as project sponsors or leaders in initiatives like ICB, OCB, PEB, REB, or the IPMA Awards and REG. Leadership roles such as general or academic chair of IPMA research conferences, or editorial positions in IPMA publications, are also valued.
• Dedicated Service to IPMA: A minimum of ten years of service to IPMA, showcasing a long-term commitment and contribution to the association.

The selection process for the IPMA Research Fellowship is rigorous:

• Candidates are recommended by IPMA Member Associations, Committees/Boards, or Executive Board members, including the Executive Director.
• The IPMA Research Coordinator reviews the nominations.
• Approval by the IPMA Vice President for Research and subsequently by the IPMA Executive Board.

Honorees are formally recognized at the annual IPMA Research Conference during the Research Awards Gala.
