IPMA International Certification Regulations

The IPMA International Certification Regulations (Public)—commonly referred to as IPMA ICR—outlines the official rules and standards for assessing individuals in project, programme, and portfolio management. It forms the foundation of the globally recognized IPMA Four-Level Certification (4-L-C) System, which enables professionals to demonstrate their competences at different stages of their careers.

 

The ICR provides transparency and consistency across all certification levels (A, B, C, D) and domains, ensuring fairness, reliability, and global comparability. Certification is based on the IPMA Individual Competence Baseline (ICB) and carried out by authorized Certification Bodies, following strict guidelines and validation audits by IPMA.
